My So-Called Book Tour

Adios to the Southwest

Canyon de Chelly (pronounced Shay) blew our minds.
One last side trip before heading for the West Coast—the incredible Canyon de Chelly on the Navaho Reservation in Arizona near the Four Corners--an awesome expanse of red rock canyons and Anasazi ruins. What makes Canyon de Chelly so special is the oasis at the bottom, where Navaho farmers continue to live part-time and grow crops and livestock. One of the Great Wonders of the Southwest.

We had a quick overnight with former Sherman Avenue neighbors Patrick and Eileen in Phoenix. Ivy was somewhat intimidated by the enthusiasm of French bull dog pair, but the dogs did fine. Then off to L.A.!
